Little hero’s dough art

Since early age,he is involved in household chores ,cooking and we always focus more on practical life.

Today,he has created his grandma using maida/all purpose flour. We don’t use it in our cooking but we use it  to make our play dough.

He has kneaded maida dough of his own and has painted it using water colours.

The sacred heart basillica ,Pondicherry

We visited The Sacred heart basillica church in Pondicherry. It is extremely beautiful  church and inside the church you could witness stained glass window which depicts the life of Jesus.

This is 100 years old historical church built in Gothic style architecture.
Outside the church,we could see lovely colourful and different types of birds and their chirping sounds were pleasant to our ears.

Diy popsicle sticks puzzles

This was done by my little hero yesterday evening.First he started with butterfly using cookie cutter.
Then later ,he told why do I need cookie cutter,I can do my own painting on sticks and create puzzle for appa.He did painting of lion and duck .
A sense of satisfaction when you do something which you love to do is priceless.
You just need few popsicle sticks ,water colours. You can stick cello tape on the back to ease to do painting.
Once it gets dried, you can number it or name it with letters. You can use the same technique to introduce spelling of names, words and many things. We have done several diy puzzles since little hero was toddlers and now he is taking lead to create diy puzzles.I m just supporting his interest.
He mixed all three puzzles together and gave it to dad to form the picture.
These will be priceless moments when we look back after several years.

Plain sheet of paper(you can laminate it if you wish for future use)

If you don’t have Dot stickers and popsicle sticks, you need not worry, you can replace it with sketch pens and unused cardboards.Simple colourful bindis will also work.

Procedure

Take different colours of sketch pens and draw circles in paper (We have used colours which matches with dot sticker  stickers)

Similarly stick dot stickers on popsicle sticks in similar pattern.Mix it well and present it to child to match with patterns.

You can use the same technique to introduce colours to toddlers and counting to kids.

In our house,it was vice versa the child presented the puzzle to dad and dad had to solve it after coming from office.

His dad shared recently that he was all the time outdoor when he was kid and he don’t remember playing any puzzle other than board games. So little hero has decided himself to do diy puzzles for his dad ☺☺

Dad said he loved doing it and so little hero is very much interested to do more diy of his own.

Manakula Vinayagar temple, Pondicherry

I have shared about our travel to Kashid,Mahabaleshwar,Panchagani,Chennai in my previous post, now it’s turn about our travel to beautiful city and  union territory of India where then French influence is clearly visible in its culture and architecture. Its none other than Pondicherry.

We started our travel with Manakula Vinayagar temple and it is very beautiful temple,my little hero liked it a lot.He was very keen is searching for the elephant in temple but we couldn’t see elephant in morning hours.

To his surprise,we went again in the evening especially to meet elephant in the temple. He was very happy to get pat from elephant and he spent some time with elephant.Small things in the life brings lots of happiness and creates beautiful childhood memories.

About the temple

Manakula Vinayagar temple is one of the popular ancient temple which is more than 500 years old.

It is believed that Manakula Vinayagar Temple was in existence before the French came and settled in Pondicherry i.e. before 1666.

According to mythology, Lord GANESHA is named in 16 types based on his various forms out which this god facing the east cost near Bay of Bengal it has been named as Bhuvaneshar Ganapathy, now called as Manakula Vinayagar.

In Tamil ‘Manal’ means sand and ‘Kulam’ means pond near the sea, earlierly which was full of sand around pond. So the people called the god as Manal Kulathu Vinayagar [means God near the pond of sand]. Later it is named as MANAKULA VINAYAGAR.(Source :wiki)

Our butterfly

My child saw a butterfly during our walk and he told me that he would like to do butterfly.I remembered my dearie Sonali kapoor, she had shared a wonderful art last month.

I shared her idea with my son and told him if he wish,he could do this art.He loved the idea and  he was all set to do his butterfly art.Everything was done by himself and I just shared the idea with him.

Thank you so much my dear friend  Sonali Kapoor for awesome idea and the credit goes to you dear.

This is how ,my little hero did his butterfly today.

He took chart paper and used scissor to cut in form of butterfly. He folded it to half to mark it.He plotted water colours on one of chart paper at different areas.

He closed the chart paper in to half. The colours on one end sticked to other end.He sticked pom poms in middle using glue . Colourful butterfly is ready in few minutes.
