It was done under my supervision as it needed hot water.

Spot the number

Take sheet of paper and write down numbers randomly and tell the child to spot specific number.For example : 20.
I have provided flat marble to the child to spot the number 20.This helps in number recognition and aids in concentration,hand eye coordination.
Similarly the same technique can be introduced for letters, colours, shapes, addition, subtraction,words and many more.

Fun with gloves

I asked my son to put few colourful buttons inside the gloves and fill it with water.I tied it securely using rubber band.

He had lots of fun in squeezing it .This aids as sensory tool .

You can try doing with younger kids but be cautious if child has tendency to mouth the objects.

It helps to strengthen the fingers and wrist which is vital for prewriting skills.

Popsicle sticks Dominoes

Dominoes game are one of the favourite of my son.We used popsicle sticks to play this game .Today we did counting from 1 to 5 through this game.

You can use the same technique with letters,numbers, cvc words,colours ,shapes,patterns, addition, subtraction and many more.

Popsicle sticks Tic tac toe game

We played Tic tac toe game using popsicle sticks.You just need few sticks and any object of your choice.We used buttons as it was at our sight.
Little one added a song while we were playing this game.

Art in any form is beautiful when there is child who loves it.

Plain sheet of paper

Water colour

Old visiting card

How to do:

Take sheet of paper.Ask the child to put drops of different colours .Hand over the visiting card and ask the child to scrape it using visiting card.

He had lots of fun while doing this.He also tried using postcard,unused hypercity card,cardboard as he wanted to explore with other options.

Sri Aurobindo hand made paper mill

This was new exposure to my little hero.If you love handmade and eco friendly stationery,I would definitely suggest you to visit this place.

Even though,we couldn’t witness the process of paper making,we visited different sections so that I could give brief idea to my little hero.

Very beautiful collections of papers with variety of designs,greeting cards,puzzles.We saw several varieties all under one roof and best part was each & everything was handmade & eco friendly.

Photography is not allowed but surely if you visit,you will never come out without purchasing the beautiful stationeries,gift boxes and other hand made item.

Pondicherry Museum

Pondicherry museum is worth a visit.My little hero was curious and was showing lots of interest in wide variety of items from the past .He was surprised to see palm leaf manuscripts,fossil wood,12th century Chola bronzes,colonial French furniture,clocks,Roman coins & many such items & the past of the town.Photography is not allowed inside the museum.

Pondicherry Museum has a gallery with sculptures and has the remains of archaeological findings from the Arikamedu Roman settlement. The museum also has a collection of rare bronzes and stone sculptures from the Pallava and Chola dynasties.(Source:wiki)
It turned out to be interesting place for my little hero.

Sri aurobindo ashram, Pondicherry

We visited  Sri Aurobindo Ashram , a spiritual community (ashram) located in Pondicherry which is very close to Manakula vinayagar temple.Thousands of visitors from all over the world come to this ashram.

Strictly children aged below 3 years are not allowed.Pin drop silence has to be maintained inside premises.Photography is prohibited.

We did not spend time in this place as my little hero was continuously warned by the members of the ashram to remain silent and was expected not to open his mouth and we chose to move out from this place pretty quick.

Diy simple dot pattern puzzle

I drew boxes and asked the child to put small and big dots using sketchpens.I laminated it using diy lamination process.
One set of dot pattern was kept for reference and other set  similar dot pattern was cut in to 12 pieces.
Mix them well and ask the child to form the pattern as per the reference picture.
